Share Our Strength, Ocean Spray and AFT team up to raise hunger awareness

Seated at a 50-foot-long table and surrounded by more than 2,000 pounds of floating cranberries, 45 kids from three New York City elementary schools were the special guests at a unique meal organized by the anti-hunger group Share Our Strength (SOS).

Working with its corporate partner Ocean Spray, and with the help of the AFT, SOS highlighted its No Kid Hungry campaign by creating a 1,500-square-foot cranberry bog in Rockefeller Center. Ocean Spray brought in trucks of cranberries and three of its cranberry farmers to create the bog. The students were joined in the bog by Martha Stewart, whose crew taped the event for a segment on her Nov. 22 show.
